speaker series
The Campus Living Villages Speaker Series involves bringing the stories of inspirational professionals to our residents. We get these professionals to visit our Villages and talk for about an hour about their road to success and their passions. The Series is designed to help guide and educate our residents in their quest to develop as professionals with drive and integrity.
We’ve had speakers like;
Justin Herald
Inspiring entrepreneur Justin Herald started his business with $50 producing
t-shirts with “ATTITUDE” emblazoned across them. Justin’s business grew in just seven years to a multi-million dollar organization, earning his brand “ATTITUDE” international recognition. A perfect example of creating, sustaining and growing a successful business.
Scott Pape
Scott Pape is a man who sees it how it is. By his own admission, he “keeps it real”. Scott understands that uni students are faced with a lot of pressures. If they are to be successful, they are required to contend with an extremely competitive economic environment where having a degree is by no means a ticket to a successful career and financial happiness.
Scott has successfully been able to combine his knowledge, experience, and infectious personality (through which humour largely prevails) to do what most people thought impossible - carve a niche in the financial market targeted at young Australians. Scott has used these attributes to “make money sexy.”
Paul McGeough
Winner of the Graham Perkin Award for Australian Journalist of the Year, the UN Association of Australia Media Peace Prize and five Walkely awards for journalism, to talk about reporting on international conflict and crisis.
Prashanth Shanmugan
A highly sought-after human rights advocate who is only 24 years old. Prashanth Shanmugan was selected in 2001 as a Global Ambassador for the United Nations Global Atlas of Human Rights and is the recipient of numerous honours, including Young Citizen of the Year (2000), Young Australian of the Year (Finalist) 2002, Centenary Medal of the Commonwealth of Australia (2003) and the 2005 Humanitarian Award.
